YT Pitch Shifter Privacy Policy

Overview

YT Pitch Shifter adjusts YouTube playback. Audio processing runs locally on your device.

Information handled

• Playback preferences: Speed, Pitch, Fine Tune, effect switches, speed-pitch sync, video loop, Reverb and EQ settings, and Output Gain are saved locally in Chrome.
• Temporary session state: Enabled-tab identifiers and audio recovery state are kept locally for the browser session.
• Current tab audio: After you click the extension icon on a video tab or Short, that tab is activated; you can also turn it on in the Side Panel. Audio is processed locally when Speed & Pitch is enabled and pitch correction is needed, or when Reverb or EQ is enabled, or Output Gain is not 0 dB. Only one tab is captured at a time. Processing may resume while the tab remains enabled. Audio is held temporarily in memory and never recorded.
• A/B points: Points are kept only in memory for the current video.

Data sharing

The extension does not send audio, browsing information, settings, or capture identifiers outside your device. We do not collect account information, cookies, or credentials, or use telemetry, analytics, advertising, or remote code.

Permission use

• activeTab: Provides temporary access to the active tab after you click the extension icon.
• tabCapture: Connects user-initiated tab audio to local pitch shifting, Reverb, EQ, and output gain.
• offscreen: Runs local audio processing after the Side Panel is closed.
• sidePanel: Displays playback and audio controls in Chrome's Side Panel.
• storage: Saves playback preferences and non-sensitive recovery state.
• YouTube access: Access to https://www.youtube.com/* detects videos and applies playback controls.

Limited use

Current-tab audio is used only for the extension's audio and playback controls, not for advertising, profiling, or unrelated purposes.

Retention and deletion

Preferences remain on your device until changed or the extension is removed. Each section's Reset restores only its parameter values. Temporary processing and enabled-tab state lasts no longer than the browser session. A/B points are cleared when the video changes.
